GRAPHITE EXHAUST GASKETS

Graphite exhaust gaskets are specialized sealing components used in exhaust systems, typically found in automobiles, trucks, industrial engines, and generators. They serve a crucial role in sealing joints between exhaust system components such as manifolds, pipes, turbochargers, and catalytic converters.

Why Graphite for Exhaust Gaskets?

Exhaust systems operate under extreme temperatures, pressure fluctuations, and are exposed to corrosive gases. Graphite is ideal because it:

  • Withstands high temperatures (up to 450–550°C in air)

  • Is chemically resistant to exhaust gases

  • Fills flange surface imperfections for a tight seal

  • Maintains seal integrity under vibration and thermal cycling

Advantages:

  • Excellent thermal stability

  • Good sealing performance even on rough or uneven surfaces

  • Resistant to corrosive exhaust gases like CO₂, NOx, and hydrocarbons

  • Long-lasting in harsh engine environments

  • Non-stick surface for easier removal during maintenance
